LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Moments: Potions Class (76383) Review

My next review of the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Moments set is the Potions Class (76383) . Like with the other sets in this wave, it costs $29.99 for this 271 piece set.

There are three minifigures in this set, Professor Snape, Draco Malfoy, and Seamus Finnigan. Snape wears a black robe over a purple shirt. He has a double-sided head showing a displeased look on one side and an angry look on the other. His accessory is a black wand.

Draco has on a gray sweater showing the Slytherin colors. He has a double-sided head with a smirk on one side and a angry expression on the other. He does have the slick back blond hair which works well on him. His accessory is a dark brown wand.

Lastly, we have Seamus who has on the gray sweater with the Gryffindor colors. His double-sided head shows him with a smile on one side and the other one shows him with a dirty face due to his spell backfiring. His accessory is a tan wand.

The build starts off with some of the furniture that is in the Potions classroom such as the potions cabinet and the blackboard. Note that those makes use of stickers for the details.

Next is the book cover which is in a sand-green color. The front cover is printed with the Hogwarts crest and the spine has a sticker of a cauldron to signify that it is a potions textbook. The inside covers have some stickers that references things that are Slytherin such as the banner, Tom Riddle written on the wall, and a bottle with a snake skeleton.

Furthermore, there’s a shelf on the right side with some equipment used in the class. Connected to the spine is a fold out space with lots of details including shelves filled with potion ingredients. The larger panels are stickers and that’s somewhat disappointing. Between the shelves is the archway with the words Potassa Carbonate on the top.

Overall, I like the way the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Moments: Potions Class (76383) is more cohesive than the Transfiguration Class in terms of items in the class as well as how everything gets packed up when the book is closed. The only main downside to these sets are the stickers used for the detailing but it’s a double-edged sword because the inside covers will be very bland without them and there’s no way that LEGO will do printing on both sides of a cover.

Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
